Sunrise House

If you’re craving comforting Korean food in Toronto, Sunrise House on 661 Bloor St W is the kind of spot that feels like a warm hug on a cold day. It’s a cozy Korean restaurant where the scent of sizzling bulgogi greets you the second you walk in, and you just know your cravings are about to be satisfied.

Sunrise House offers a simple, no-fuss vibe, perfect for grabbing a quick bite after work or a late-night meal when you’re not ready to call it a day. Whether you want to sit down for a dine-in meal with friends or just grab takeaway to enjoy at home, it’s all easy and fuss-free here. The staff is quick to serve and the atmosphere keeps things casual, making it easy to swing by any day of the week.

One of the best parts about Sunrise House is how it pairs its homestyle Korean dishes with a cold beer or a light spirit for those who like a drink with their meal. If you’re in the mood for something warm, the spicy kimchi jjigae hits just right, while the BBQ dishes come out hot, smoky, and full of that deep Korean flavor that keeps you going back for more.

Beyond the food, it’s the unpretentious feel of Sunrise House that makes it stand out in the city’s Koreatown strip. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find students grabbing quick bites, locals dropping by for late-night food, and groups sharing laughter over steaming bowls. The menu covers everything from classic stews to fried pancakes, and you can always count on generous portions that leave you full without emptying your wallet.

If you’re looking for a spot where you can relax, enjoy comforting Korean food, and sip on a beer while watching the world go by on Bloor Street, Sunrise House is worth keeping on your Toronto food map.

I came here with my boyfriend, and we were both blown away by the experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt incredibly warm and welcoming—it set the tone for a great meal. The food was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the BBQ beef short ribs—they were tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every dish we tried was well-prepared and delicious, making it a memorable dining experience.

It’s my first time here! I ordered two dishes, each just about 15, very reasonable, good flavors. The dishes make me miss my home, Asian cuisine always gives you sufficient food and reasonable price to let you have a home in Toronto & Canada. I did a city walk from Eaton Center to Bloor and then went west to Korean City, which took me at least 2 hours walk. Could you imagine how I feel after eating such beautiful and delicious food?

Amazing! I had meals alone, or with friends. All were well served with unlimited side dishes. The family was very nice and kind and welcoming. The food was all delicious. My friends told me she found “Korean home” taste and now it has become her food court for comfort food when she doesn’t want to cook.

The value, portion and taste proportion just can’t be beat. They didn’t not raise their price by much! Look at the amount of meat for 17.99

Amazing service! The staff gave us some free fruit before the food came. So kind and friendly. The soon tofu was amazing! It has so much depth in the broth. Extremely flavorful. Nice side dishes are always huge plus. Highly recommend this place.

Adorable mom and pop place with GREAT portions. I ordered the bulgogi and the rice and beef ratio was perfectly equal, such a huge plate especially for the price. Every dish was like under 20 bucks. They also offer more side dishes once u finish them which is always a huge plus :)) service was amazing!

Sweet staff and yummy consistent food everytime. Always a must to get the kimchi fried rice w/ chicken. Soso good, everything really is good to be honest. I can't hype this place enough, these pictures have been from recent and past visits. Everything is always good here
